Project
The Te Kotuku Redevelopment Project (Whangarei Hospital Maternity Expansion) will replace the Paediatric Inpatient Ward and Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at Whangarei Hospital and create a healthcare hub for women and children. The work will be done without disrupting the existing maternity unit, and a new Medical Laboratory will also be provided.
The Whangarei Hospital Maternity Expansion will complete the fit-out and expansion of the hospital and include a new vertical circulation core at the east end and an additional lift and stair core at the western end of the building. The project is expected to be completed in January 2024 with a focus on operational continuity and safety throughout the construction process.
