Project
In 2020, St Vincent’s received a $25 million Capital Works Grant to begin planning the St Vincent’s Darlinghurst Integrated Campus Priority Works Redevelopment. This grant allowed for the start of two clinical redesign projects, which are currently underway. The first project involves adding additional ICU beds to address the high ICU occupancy and to meet the demand for the flagship specialist services in heart and lung transplantation, cardiothoracic surgery, trauma, and other complex surgeries. The second project involves adding more consultation and treatment spaces in the Heart Lung Clinic to address the growing demand. This Capital Works Grant has also allowed St Vincent’s to plan for a significant clinical redevelopment and expansion project. This project involves demolishing the existing Cahill-Cater buildings and replacing them with a new building, as well as refurbishing part of the existing Xavier/Aikenhead buildings.
