Project

A new public hospital has been constructed in the Northern Territory after nearly 40 years, with a total investment of A$170m ($124m). Both the Australian government (A$110m) and Northern Territory government (A$60m) have funded the 116-bed hospital. The hospital will be open 24/7 and provide a range of healthcare services, including emergency department, radiology, and pharmacy services.

The facility will serve as the primary centre for rehabilitative care in the NT and offer improved access to complex rehabilitative care for older people. Additionally, the hospital will provide better access to maternity services and offer antenatal and postnatal care, as well as outpatient clinics, medical imaging (including CT scanning), and telehealth care for rural patients.
