Project

The $73 million Latrobe Regional Hospital Stage 2 expansion was completed in August 2017. The project was designed to improve access to efficient, high quality healthcare services that the Gippsland community can access close to home. It also aimed to encourage healthcare professionals to live and work in the region. The Latrobe Regional Hospital Stage 2 expansion was part of the multi-stage Latrobe Regional Hospital masterplan and delivered: a new emergency department with satellite imaging including X-ray, CT scan and ultrasound, 30- bed acute inpatient ward, 12-bed short stay unit, two endoscopy rooms, new cardiac catheterisation laboratory, new main entrance and drop-off area connected to public transport and public car parking, refurbished and extended central plant area, new ambulance bay for four vehicles.
