The new Gardner-Pittard Wing at the Ballarat Base Hospital delivers a new helipad based on top a new multi-deck car park, the rooftop location determined by suitable flight paths and in consultation with Air Ambulance Victoria.
The additional 199 car spaces take the pressure off car parking congestion in and around the hospital. The helipad saves vital minutes in time-critical transfers and emergency arrivals, ensuring more people in and around Ballarat can be transported to Ballarat Base Hospital or to major trauma hospitals in Melbourne much faster.
