Project
Situated in Newtown, Southern Cross Wellington Hospital currently offers specialised medical services to the residents of Wellington. The major expansion has brought much-needed surgical capacity to the Wellington area. The initial phase of development aimed to improve orthopaedic services by adding two new surgical theatres. These are located in a new three-level building next to the current hospital on Hanson Street. Currently, there are six surgical theatres, and by increasing the number to eight, the hospital’s capacity for surgical procedures will significantly increase. Additionally, some of the existing theatres will be upgraded as part of this project.
